What is Kybella?

What Happens During a Kybella Procedure?
Preparation
It’s important to schedule your Kybella appointment at least two weeks in advance from any major event or special occasion, as you will experience a significant amount of swelling. To reduce the risk of swelling and irritation, we recommend you avoid alcohol, caffeine, high-sodium foods, and refined carbs, at least 48-hours before your appointment.
Treatment
You will receive anywhere from 20 to 50 injections during your treatment session. When Kybella is injected into the skin, the acid destroys the fat cells beneath the chin, preventing that area from storing fat. Over the course of a few weeks, your body will continue to metabolize the fat cells.
Aftercare
Directly after receiving a Kybella injection, you’ll notice significant swelling, redness, and possible bruising. Swelling and redness usually subside within a week, but we may recommend a compression garment to assist in the swelling reduction.
Keep in mind that Kybella results are permanent, but significant weight gain can lead to fat cells resurfacing in the chin area.

Based on the severity of your double chin, multiple sessions may be required. However, we do recommend waiting a month between each session to allow for proper healing and optimal results
Each session lasts about 20 minutes, but depending on the size of the area, sessions could run longer.
You can expect to see results in six to eight weeks. The skin under your chin will slowly begin to tighten and you’ll have a lessened double chin appearance.
